Alphabet have had the pleasure of collaborating with photographer Gary Heery on many publication design projects, but this one has it’s own unique sense of the extraordinary. From Gary’s individual approach to capturing birds in flight (inside a very big black tent), through to the scratch and scribble design, and the gilded finish of the print, Bird is a book like no other – as recognised by AGDA with a Pinnacle award

Through his lens, Gary captures the enigmatic and charismatic personalities of these magnificent creatures as they unwittingly pose for the camera, revealing sensibilities unique to each and every one of them. Their humour, curiosity, pizazz, control, whimsy, focus and idiosyncrasies are all celebrated in this collection.
